The opening months of the 2026 show season have given South West Norwegian Cat Club members plenty to celebrate. Across three GCCF shows in March and early April, our breed has put in a remarkable display of type, coat, and condition.
Western Counties Cat Club Show — 7 March 2026
The season opened at Westpoint Arena in Exeter with a strong Norwegian entry of 14 cats. Best of Breed went to a stunning blue tabby and white neuter bred and exhibited by one of our committee members. The judge commented particularly on the breadth of muzzle and the depth of the double coat — exactly what the standard calls for at this time of year.
Coventry & District Cat Club Championship Show — 21 March 2026
Twelve Norwegians competed at Coventry, with Best of Breed and the Best in Variety rosette taken by a brown classic tabby kitten making her show debut. Three of our members returned home with Challenge Certificates, and we are delighted to report that two cats made up to Champion at this show.
Supreme Cat Show Qualifier — 4 April 2026
The Supreme qualifier in Birmingham saw a black silver tabby Norwegian male take Best Semi-Longhair Adult — a wonderful result and a clear endorsement of his exceptional bone, profile, and tufting. We look forward to following his progress through the rest of the season.
Looking Ahead
