Terms of Service
Last updated: 22 April 2026.
These terms apply to everyone who uses this website. Please read them carefully. By using the website you accept these terms; if you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
1. About us
This website is run by the Norwegian Forest Cat Club (“NFCC”), an unincorporated association affiliated to the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy. The Committee of NFCC is responsible for the content of this site. Our contact details are on the Contact page.
2. Permitted use
You may browse this website, download material for your own personal, non-commercial use, and share links to pages that are publicly visible. All other reproduction or commercial use requires our prior written permission.
You must not:
- use the site in a way that breaches any law;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any members’-area, admin dashboard, or server;
- upload or transmit any virus, malware, or malicious code;
- harvest email addresses or personal data from the site for any purpose (including sending unsolicited commercial communications);
- scrape, spider or cache substantial parts of the site without our written permission;
- use the site to advertise or solicit commercial business not connected with the breed.
3. Intellectual property
All text, photographs, tables, logos and designs on this site are the copyright of NFCC, the contributing member, or the relevant third-party licensor (in each case as noted). The Forest Gazette is a club publication and its contents are protected by copyright.
You may quote short extracts for non-commercial, editorial, research, or educational purposes, provided the source is acknowledged as “Norwegian Forest Cat Club, www.nfcc.example.uk”. Reproduction of any substantial portion, or any use for a commercial purpose, requires written permission.
4. The Breeders’ Directory
The Breeders’ Directory lists member catteries who meet our eligibility criteria and who subscribe to the NFCC Code of Ethics. Inclusion in the directory is a statement of club membership and Code-of-Ethics compliance; it is not a recommendation, endorsement, guarantee of temperament, health, or fitness for purpose of any individual kitten or adult cat.
Any purchase, breeding arrangement, or other transaction is a private contract between you and the member breeder. NFCC is not a party to that contract and does not accept liability for it. If you have a concern about a member’s conduct, please refer it to our Welfare Officer in the first instance.
5. User-submitted content
Where we invite you to submit material (for example, newsletter contributions, show entries, or Breeders’ Directory listings), you warrant that:
- the material is your own work or you have permission to submit it;
- it does not infringe any third-party’s intellectual property rights;
- it does not contain anything defamatory, obscene, or otherwise unlawful;
- you grant NFCC a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish the material in the Forest Gazette, on this website, and in other club communications.
You retain copyright in your submissions. We will take down any submission if we receive a reasonable complaint that it infringes a third party’s rights.
6. External links
Where we link to third-party websites we do so in good faith, but we have no control over the content of those sites and accept no responsibility for it.
7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The content of this site is provided “as is” for the general information of our members and the interested public. It is not veterinary, legal, financial, or other professional advice, and should not be relied on in place of such advice. NFCC excludes to the fullest extent permitted by law any liability for loss or damage arising from use of the site or reliance on its content, save that nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
8. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed. Continued use of the site following a revision signifies acceptance of the revised terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and any dispute arising out of them shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
10. Contact
Questions about these terms should be addressed to the Secretary at secretary@nfcc.example.uk.
